was born and bred in Leicester, and joined the show on drums in October 2003.
A self-taught drummer, Jo has been playing since the age of 12.
She has since covered an assortment of musical styles, embracing
rock, pop, and function bands, as well as teaching and studio work.
At the end of 2000, she went semi-professional with Findley Webster,
a local female singer/songwriter and her band. After spending
over 3 years with the project, and notching-up a healthy gig list
and recording 2 albums, Jo decided it was time to go fully
professional when the opportunity with Tony Carnagie came along.
And drums aren’t her only talent..! Prior to becoming a
fulltime drummer, Jo was a Bin Lady, yes that’s right folks,
a BIN LADY!, and a bit of a Leicester legend!! ...And she DID
practice on Dustbin lids!!!
Jo’s musical influences are vast, but in drumming it was
Tim Burgess with 80’s band T’Pau who first captured her
imagination. Personal inspirations definitely come
from her
“Ma and Pa… cos they're just simply the best
parents a lass could wish for!”, and
“Stella… for always
being there in good times and bad!”.
Other than drumming (and being the village idiot!), other
interests include; being with family and friends, animals,
music, surfing the net, and DVD’s.
Jo is quite simply a female drummer and several halves…
not only do you get a lass that can knock out a good beat,
but you get a fun loving personality who brings a whole new
dimension to the show.
